Our Story

HEIRLOOMS pl.noun a. something of special value handed down

Brenda McCartney, owner of Heirlooms found her career path in the re-sale industry in 1984. She went to work in one of Aspens’ first and foremost consignment stores GRACYS, owned by a dear friend Claudette Carter.

“It was a perfect match” she will tell you, fun customers, hard work, fast-paced, economical concept and the curating of displays from the endless fashion and furniture rolling through the store had her hooked.

Brenda began a lifetime path of learning an industry that rapidly grew due to value-conscious shoppers and a growing awareness of the importance of living in an earth-friendly manner.

In 2004 Brenda purchased Heirlooms (a small, established re-sale shop) in downtown Basalt, Colorado, and aptly applied her knowledge of the industry, quickly growing the business to one of the premier consignment shops in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.

With a dedicated team of hard-working gals, you will always be greeted with a warm hello when you enter. Our re-sale rabbit hole of fun and funky displays, carefully curated and affordably priced “on-trend” clothing, furniture, jewelry, art, vintage, and beyond will delight.
